Vests should be 5% of the users weight according to the Occupational Therapy Guidelines. We also adhere to the Clinical Excellence Guidelines for Medical Device License.
Every vest is made to order and we are there to guide you through the design process, to ensure the choices you make bring the maximum benefit, and happiness, to the the end wearer.
We have three base vest designs; the basic v neck waistcoat, the hooded body warmer and the stand collar style.
We stock plain fleece fabrics in red, black, navy and royal blue. We also have cotton jersey sweatshirt material available in both grey or navy blue. If there is another colour you would like we are ahppy to source this for you. You can choose linings in either a plain or patterend fabric and we have various styles of pocket to choose from.
As our vests are a bespoke product the price is dependant on size, weight, choice of fabric and complexity of design.
As a basic pricing guide, child’s vests start from £85 for the basic v neck waistcoat style, from £100 for the stand collar option and from £95 for the hooded body warmer style. Adult’s vests are priced from £120.
An additional charge of £10 applies to patterned linings.
Delivery is £11 for up to 5kg. This is fully insured and signed for upon receipt.
As our weighted vests are individually made for each order, we usually quote a 4-6 week turn around though we are sometimes able to complete orders sooner. As we are parent of our own SN children we need to work flexibly around them.
To place an order we ask only for a deposit of £30 to secure your choice of fabrics. You can then pay the balance when you can. At A Stitch Different we are all parents/family/friends of special needs children and fully understand the additional financial pressure this brings. We are flexible.
We are entirely ‘not for profit’ and our prices only cover our costs. We do choose to use only high quality materials to ensure our products are hardwearing, strong and safe. We are fully insured and our certificates can be found in the pinned post on our page on Facebook.
