A Stitch Different Community Interest Company is comprised of Cumbria parents/carers of young people with Autism and related conditions.
There isn’t much we haven’t encountered on our journey.
We are passionate that families have access to credible information and products that can make a real difference to the lives of those living with sensory or sleep issues.
With lived experience and have undertaken many years of training in sensory, sleep, communication & challenging behaviour.
This gives us the expertise to support other families with clinically proven strategies and advice. We always ask questions!!
We’re not being nosey we want to be able to offer the most appropriate products/advice.
As a registered Non-profit organisation, we only cover pure costs however we choose to use only top-quality components, our young people are unique, so their needs come first.
Life is hard enough, so we strive to give the most suitable products, ensuring that all guidelines and legalities are met along with appropriate advice to help with their sensory/sleep needs.
We are trained as Sleep Practitioners through the Sleep Charity & Edinburgh Sleep Medicine Programme. We are qualified to offer one to one support with both children and adults experiencing sleep issues. We use clinically proven behavioural approaches and can now also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi)
A Stitch Different Community Interest Company was created with the aim to help local people living with Autism, anxiety, or other disabilities, along with their parents or carers to provide meaningful activities and or real-life work experience for those that need.
Ultimately, those that need the products learn to make them for themselves and others.
Any proceeds are reinvested or donated back into the community.
