Our blankets are designed to sit over the body from neck down, this is so the weight is over the body and not wasted on the bed or surrounding area, this gives the correct feedback, when too large can give different feedback, more a dragging sensation than a therapeutic benefit.
We can make blankets longer if needed depending on the height of the individual.
Blankets should be no more than 10% of the users weight according to the Occupational Therapy Guidelines, we also adhere to the Clinical Excellence Guidelines for Medical Device License.
We keep lots of printed fabrics in stock or can order in any specific fabrics for those special interests.
We would only charge you any additional costs incurred to buy in fabrics for you.
Poly pellets are contained in pockets which are double lining and the weight is distributed evenly within the blanket. This is then backed usually in a plain fabric for those days when overstimulated.
We stock lots of plain polycottons in blues, royal and navy, grey, red, black, green, pink and purple. We also have plain fleece in coordinating colours from a £15 extra.
Dimple plush can be ordered in from £25 extra available in huge choice of colours please ask for further details.
It is widely used as a safe and effective treatment for sensory integration especially when used as part of a sensory diet and has been recommended and safely used in schools, hospitals and at home.
Blankets are fully machine washable on a low heat delicate cycle and we send out a full set of care instructions with each blanket.
We are completely not for profit and only cover our costs, we do however choose to use only high quality products. We are fully insured and our certificates can be found in the pinned post on our page on Facebook.
All we ask is for a £30 deposit to secure fabrics then the balance when you can afford it, balance prior to delivery, that is essentially the payment plan, we leave it up to you to pay when you can with no pressure from us, we are all SN parents so totally understand.
We are flexible, we can send you a reminder if needed. Once the deposit is received your order will go our production queue then once completed we take pictures and let you know.
To order we need the weight and height of user, confirmation that they can remove the blanket themselves, your fabric choice for both sides of the blanket, your email and postal address so that we can send order confirmation email that contains details on how to pay the deposit.
Pricing
Our blankets generally start from £80 child size 100x80cm upto 2kg, longer small 120x80cm upto 2.5kg £85. Standard size 150 x 90cm to 5kg £95. Adult Blankets 175x110cm over 4kg start at £105 plus £6 per kg extra. All depends on fabric chosen and weight of blanket needed. We need the users weight and height in order to work out sizing correctly.
